Jugal Talukdar shines at the top most in the list of HSLC results that was declared today. The people of Barpeta over joyed at the continuous success of the candidates of Barpeta district. Jugal Talukdar is the son of Koushala and Janak Talukdar and lives at Medhikuchi near Bhawanipur. Jugal is the student of Choukhuti Sankardev Shishu Niketan. He secured a total of 572 marks having letter marks in Eng 94, As-87, GSc- 99, GM- 100, SS- 95, and Adv. Maths- 97. He wants to join the science stream at higher secondary. His father wished him to admit in Bajali college. From remained at his grand parents house and his parents, his teachers and the family members are his source of inspiration. In his leisure time he use to read books and likes to play. He prepared himself for the examination by reading 6-7 hours in a day. He spoke that firm determination is the key to success. One should take the responsibility of the soceity oneself to lead a soceity. His parents are very much happy for their son's success.

Barpeta district CPI(ML) today observed jail-bhoro programme protesting against the skyrocketing price hike and the continuous corruption in implementing the various NREGA schemes of the entire district. The district unit took out a procession with slogan against the governments towards the deputy commissioner's office and in front of Deputy commissioner's office they staged demonstration. The urged the government for controlling the skyrocketing price hike which has made the lives of the general people measurable. On the other hand the corruption in NREGA schemes also harassed the people depriving the proper persons.

The sudden price hike of the essential commodities has made the life of the general people miserable. The state government has completely failed to control the price hike. Barpeta district AGP has taken out a protest march on September 14 and later on staged demonstration at the DC office premises. The organisation also submitted a memorandum to the DC Barpeta to take appropriate measures on the sudden price hike of the essential commodities.
Barpeta district Gramin Dak Sevak union today staged two-hours-long demonstration at Barpeta post office premises demanding to submit the report of 6th pay commission. Mentionable that about 3 lakh Gramin Dak Sevak have been serving in a nomial rate year after year. Though other postal workers have been getting the benefits of the central govt, these Gramin Dak Sevas have been deprived of the facilities. The death anniversary of Mahapurush Sri Sri Madhabdeva was observed at Barpeta Satra (Assamese monastery) by conducting a traditional Kirtan Mahotsava. Kirtans are devotional songs sang in the local language. Barpeta district Anganbadi workers/ helpers Association staged a 4-hour demonstration at DC office premises on September 1 protesting to fulfill their various demands. In a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi, it was stated that they have been urging the govt to fulfill their demands, but all are futile. In their demands payment of the enhanced rate on central govt salary to the workers; 80% reservation in the vacant post of the chief service women, upgradation of the helpers in the vacant post of Anganwadi workers, stop the work of ICDS to the NGOs.
