ULFA publicity secretary Mithinga Daimary was freed on Thursday 48 hours after he procured bail from a local TADA court. The jailed ULFA top gun who has been languishing in Guwahati after he was captured in Bhutan during Operatrion All Clear, was freed on Thursday in presence of his family members who later took away him to his birth place Barama in Nalbari district of Assam. His release is significant in view of the stepped up efforts to hold talk between government and the ULFA. Another ULFA leader vice chairman Pradeep Gogoi is also set to be freed in a day or two. His was also granted bail on Tuesday by a TADA court which is considered to be a significant steps for holding talk with the government.
Hundreds of pro talk NDFB leaders took out a huge bike rally in Kokrajhar on Thursday demanding safety and security for tribal people in the BTAD areas.
The rally was flagged off by Peoples Joint Action Committee convener Zebraram Moosahary which received overwhelming support support from the various organizations including NDFB, Adivasi Cobra Military, Joint Action Committee for Bodoland Movement, Ex-BLT and UPDF. The protesters demanded expulsion of outsiders from the tribal belts.
