The Guwahati Press Club has arranged an informal interactive session of the city-based journalists with the veteran lady journalist Sabita Goswami on Saturday, October 17 at 11 am. Smt Goswami is the first woman of Assam to edit an English newspaper. She started her journalist career in 1972 reporting for the Blitz. She also worked for the BBC, AFP, AP, The Week and the Dainik Janambhumi. Smt Goswami served the media during the turbulent days of the Assam agitation and the heydays of ULFA. She also raised the banner of revolt against the ULFA terror in an undaunted manner, along with a few of her colleagues, in the 1990s.
She has by now written her autobiography in Assamese to record her experiences as a field journalist and also as a human being. Now lives in Mumbai, Smt Goswami is here in connection with the release of her autobiography—Mon Gangar Teerat. The Guwahati Press Club requests all interested media persons to attend the function.

A Guwahati based organization takes on Chief minister and APSC alleging bribe in the examination held to select the candidates for ACS, APS and allied services. The officials of the Peoples'Welfare Forum lodged an FIR at Basistha police station against chief minister Tarun Gogoi and APSC chairman Rakesh Paul charging the duo to have taken bribe from a section of candidates to ensure their success in the competitive examination.
