Guwahati Rly Station--No ending of Passengers woes

One side Railway Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee is insisting on increasing facilities to passenger, specially targetting railway station in West Bengal as more and more station is under upgradation list from her home state. On the other hand, the apathy of whole North-eastern area can be understand from the woes being faced by commuters on Guwahati Rly station. The gateway to north-east is really in bad state, which partially can be justified by late running of trains due to single line position.

But, the condition of platform including coaches of long distance trains is so dirty that condition of daily commuters can easily be imagined. The drinking water available in very few taps in paltform 2-3, in which the water is full of waste-particles. It can't be called as drinking water due to the presence of residual waste in it. So, finally the passengers are forced to depend upon bottled water available with vendors. The nexus between vendors with station management can't be ignored as water bottles is mostly priced higher than MRP written on it.

In totality, the flagship station of North Frontier Rail is quite neglected by railway administration, though the revenue is comparable with other major station of the country. Its time to spend some money back on extending basic facilities to passengers, then only Railway "Shubh yatra" mantra canbe realised.
