Blast at Dhekiajuli, Sonitpur district

A blast took place at the Batachipur Road, near Civil Hospital, Dhekiajuli town at around 3:45 today. Five people injured in the incident including security personnel.

Earlier, there was a grenade blast at 8:45 am at Shantipur, Karbi Anglong district. There was no casualty in that incident.

So far no outfit has claimed responsibility of the blast.Ahead of the general election its a clear signal given whoever the culprit that it is not going to be easy polling days in the state.If the government is sensitive enough on fair election has to deploy extra security forces for the security of the public. We have to wait and see how government is going to act on it.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has asked Chief Secretary PC Sarma to probe into the matter as to why Assam tableaux is not being put in this year’s Republic Day function in New Delhi and submit the report forthwith. According to sources, Mr Gogoi has taken the matter seriously and asked the Chief Secretary to probe into the matter to find out the lapses, if any, and to fix responsibility on the officials concerned.
