ULFA help slur: Gogoi asks peacenickers to show evidence

Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has offered to quit politics if the pro-talk ULFA rebels could show the evidence that they helped Congress come to power. Addressing a press conference in Dispur on Thursday, Gogoi said he and his party needed no help from ULFA and other terrorist outfits to come to the hot seat. Gogoi found it strange and said ULFA boycotted the elections but now they claimed thier help. "I would quit politics if they can prove what they claim," said the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister further said a Rs 2100 crore fiscal deficit awaits Assam due to the global melt down. But in the same breath, he denied any closure of job opportunities.

This is not surprising et all. The congress party is like that only. It supports illegal settlement of crores of Bangladesis & mass conversions to christianity as they are ready vote bank for them. Shame on indians who repeatedly choose traitors to rule themselves. shame!

According to information,a dairy firm owner Bishnu Kedia and his brother in law Sanjoy Agarwal have gone missing since Saturday midnight on their way from Fancy Bazar to Narengi.Their mobile phones are remaining switch-off.Ten hours after police registered the complaint the vehicle was found at Narengi on Sunday.Nobody has claimed the responsibility of the case. Altogether 5 persons have been injured in group clash with a section of local residents is Tinsukia district on Sunday. The clash took place in Shantipur on the NH 37 when a group of persons had an altercation with a group of local residents over a family matter where these persons who came on two vehicles from Roing threatened the local residents showing sharp weapons.Then an irate f mob accepted the challenged and attacked them before handing them over to police.The vehicles were damaged in the incidents. There is report of gunbattle between a group of poachers and forest guards Morigaon district on Sunday. But no casualty has been reported. The forest guards of West Dharamtul forest range led by ranger Mustafa Ali Ahmed exchanged fire with the illegal illgal woodcutters at Sibakunda reserve forest. The woodcutters had opened fire when the forest guards approached and the guards retaliated. Later, the wood fellers managed to escape into the dense forest, the sources said adding one gun and serveral rounds of ammunition were found from the spot by the forest guards.
One person was injured when a low intensity bomb exploded in Haflong on Sunday. The incident took place at around 7 in the evening near the Haflong market. A shop was also damaged under impact of the blast. The entire market not teeming with people due to Sunday evening. The injured person has been rushed to the Haflong Civil Hospital. The injured person has been identified as Panit Daulagapu.

Two ULFA linkmen were nabbed by Army with arms and explosives in Goalpara district on Saturday. Identified as Ambas Ali and Dabanam Changma alias Ali Garo they were involved in the July 30 bomb blast in Goalpara. Acting on a tip off, jawans of 9 Sikhli regiment of the Army''s red Horns Division apprehended the two at Rakhshashini Pahartuli village under Mornoi police station. Altogether 68 detonators, some gelatin sticks and explosives, 250 metres electric wire and a mobile hand set were recovered from them. At least five CRPF personnel were killed and 44 others injured when militants triggered a powerful IED blast at Bhalukbudi in the district on July 30.
An uneasy situation prevails in Sonitpur district when suspected NDFB militants kidnapped two train drivers near Bhalukpung on Sunday. The incident took place when a group of heavily armed cadres of NDFB halted a goods train at Damani while it was on its way to Bhalukpung from Rongapara. Then the miscreants took away driver of the train Atul Chiring Phukan and his assistant Nirmal Chandra Barpatra Gohain at gun point and disappeared in the midst of the dense jungle in the morning. Rescue operation is on but nobody has so far owned up the responsibility.
A strange ray of rolling light in the sky forces people of Guwahati to gaze at on Saturday evening.The strange object was spotted in the western part of the sky. It was like a ball of light which kept rolling for nearly 2 hours.The source of the light is yet to be confirmed but the people of the city came out of their houses to have glimpse of the strange object.
