A parliamentary standing committee team consisting of 9 people including MPs both Loksabha and Rajyasabha visited flood eroded area of Bahari area of Barpeta District recently. The team after visiting the area said to news persons that to solve such a problem only 6 or 7 crore amount is not sufficient.For it a huge amount of money is needed.These team were also shown slides about the errosion of the mighty river Bramhaputra by the chief engineer of the Water Resource Dept.In this team R.Sambasiva Rao,MP,Chairman of the standing committee; Shankhlal Majhi, MP; Harilal M. Patel, MP; Arun Kr. Sarmah, MP; Kumar Deepak Das, MP (Rajya Sabha); Sanjeev Sarma, Deputy Secy.; Sushil Kumar, Senior private Secy.; A.K.Ydav,Committee officer; Nitin Gupta,Liaison officer etc came. Along with them Phanidhar Kalita, DC Barpeta also visited Bahari floos erroted area. The standing committee members will report about this flood errosion problem of Bahari area in the central govt.Mentionable that so many villages of that area eroded by the mighty river Bramhaputra and hundreds of people became homeless time to time.
