Eminent scholar and writer Sanjib Baruah will attend the 'Guest of the Month' programme of Guwahati Press Club on Friday (January 30, 2009). The programme will begin at 1 pm sharp.

A NDFB-S rebel identified as Buddhiram Basumatary alias Birkw of Amteka Debrabil in Chirang district was apprehanded from Karigaon area in Kokrajhar by security forces belonging to the Army on Sunday morning. Congress is gearing up to form the Tiwa Autonomous Council after the ruling party won 15 out of 31 seats.
