NEFIS Condemns Manipur State Government's Failure to Ensure Peace and Normalcy

The North-East Forum for International Solidarity (NEFIS) has strongly criticized the Manipur state government for its inability to maintain peace and normalcy in the region. NEFIS demands the immediate resignation of the Chief Minister of Manipur on moral grounds, holding the government accountable for its failure to ensure peace in the state.

The organization has called upon all communities in Manipur to prioritize communal harmony amidst the current atmosphere of communal rift, urging them to engage in dialogue to resolve their differences. NEFIS expressed concern over the role of the state government in sowing animosity among different communities for cheap political gains.

The current conflicts between communities have resulted in the loss of lives, the destruction of homes, and the displacement of people. NEFIS highlights the plight of the poor and laboring masses who suffer the most in such communal conflicts, while the ruling elites benefit from the unrest.

NEFIS also expressed alarm over the spread of communal hatred by certain individuals, which further intensifies the volatile situation. The organization emphasizes the urgent need for immediate and strict action against these instigators to prevent the situation from spiraling out of control. NEFIS stresses the importance of ensuring that no community faces vilification and that social justice is upheld for all.

Furthermore, NEFIS condemns the Manipur Government for its role in exacerbating the tensions between communities. The organization acknowledges the dire circumstances faced by the marginalized and laboring masses of all communities and urges all individuals to work together to maintain communal harmony and seek resolution through dialogue.

The North-East Forum for International Solidarity (NEFIS) calls upon the Manipur state government to take immediate action to restore peace and security. NEFIS appeals for communal harmony, peace, and justice in Manipur.
