NEHU Biomedical Refresher Course commences

Over 30 faculty members from various institutes across India are participating in a two-week Refresher Course in Biomedical on the theme "Advancements in Healthcare Technologies". The course is being organized by the UGC Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) in collaboration with the Department of Biomedical Engineering at North Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Shillong from 1st to 15th March, 2023.

The course was inaugurated on 1st March by Prof. Iftekhar Hussain, Dean of School of Technology at NEHU, as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Prasenjit Biswas, Officer Incharge, Office of International Affairs, as Guest of Honor, among others. The participants will have the opportunity to learn from prominent academicians, experts, and industry resource persons who will be sharing their insights on recent technological trends in the field.

During the inauguration, Dr. Dinesh Bhatia, Course Coordinator, outlined the course objectives and the mode of conduct, while Prof. H.K. Mishra, Director of HRDC at NEHU, highlighted the importance of refresher courses in improving faculty members' performance. The Chief Guest, Prof. Hussain, emphasized the need to keep up with recent technological trends, and Prof. Biswas stressed the importance of higher learning and acquiring new skills and knowledge to contribute to the field of work.

The Refresher Course aims to equip participants with the latest advancements in healthcare technologies, and the diversity of the course participants, including a higher number of female faculty members, is noteworthy. The event ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Punit Gautam, Course Co-coordinator, who thanked all involved in the smooth conduct of the course.
