Guwahati: After 20 days of Lockdown to keep COVID19 at bay,  the authorities in the city of Guwahati are beginning to unlock phase I from Monday.

According to chief secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna, the shops will open only on one side of the road from Monday to Friday.

Hotels and restaurants have been restricted from opening in this phase.  However,  the restaurants would be able to do home delivery.

All government and private offices, banks and NBFCs would be operating with 30 per cent staff.

Cab services will be operating from morning to evening. But the private vehicles have been restricted for the next 15 days.

According to the health minister, the Lockdown has marginally helped the city to bring the situation under control which was why the unlocking process is the way out.
