Tinsukia: A relief camp inmate in Baghjan area allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison on Saturday sending shock and anger across the state.
The incident took place after the inmate has been remaining upset over nonreceipt of compensation from the authorities since the gas well inferno reduced his houses and properties to ashes.
According to allegations, only 35 families have received Rs 30,000 each as ex Gratia from Oil India Ltd, and the remaining families have yet to receive any ex Gratia except the relief materials even as the inferno has yet to die out.
