Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police Force

Railway Protection Force and Government Railway Police Force detained the 56 returnee's  of Hojai District  on Wednesday wee hours, who pulled the chain of Special Shramik train at Shivbari level crossing just after Hojai Station at around 1.55 am, which was bound to Dibrugarh from Mumbai.

Actually, the train was to halt at Lumding Railway Station and these passenger were to de-board at the same.

"In minutes of pulling the chain, RPF and GRPF got the information through walkie-talkie. We reached at spot and found some passenger de-boarding from the train, We took them in Custody and  brought them at Hojai railway station.", a official of GRPF quoted.

After preliminary screening, they were sent at quarantine centre, 37 at Daboka area, 17 at Lanka and 2 at Hojai.

 The 55 passengers belong to Hojai district of which 31 are of Murajhar area, 16 Lanka, 2 Jamunamukh, 2 Hojai, 4 Daboka and 1  is of Kheroni in Karbianglong district.  

This incident has gripped the residents of  district in fear of Community transmission.

On the otherhand, Hojai Police successfully nabbed another five persons on Wednesday , who were able to fled from the spot.These persons were brought at Hojai FRU for medicial checkup. Later, they have been sent to quarantine centre. 

At present, total 181 people of the district are found infected with COVID 19.
