Police has booked arrested one Pabitra Boro, an NDFB cadre for parking the Maruti-800 at Panbazar before it exploded on October 30.
It is revealed that in its initial investigation, SIT has identified the main culprit behind the serial blast in Guwahati and some other places in lower Assam. Thungri Boro is one of them. Those who helped Thungri carry out his plan include driver Dinesh Boro, Tarun Boro and Tens Narzary. Police suspects that that these four NDFB cadres carried out the blasts. The charges against them are specific.
In yet another development, four NDFB cadres picked up earlier have been allowed to leave for the designated camp on Friday. Two police teams are leaving for Bagsa to pick up some more NDFB cadres from the designated camps for interrogation.
On the other hand, police produced Pabitra Boro alias Lengra before the court on Friday. According to police, Pabitra was parking the car in Panbazar at the instance of Thungri.
They further left for Rangia by this blue coloured Maruti Alto car bearing No AS01/ AE 9726. Thungri was accompanied by Dinesh and the driver was Babul Boro. After paying the fare in cash to Babul in Rangia, Dinesh and Thungri left towards Bagsa by another vehicle. Police sought 14 days remand for Pabitra but the Kamrup district chief judicial magistrate Rabin Phukan cleared seven days police custody. Meanwhile the SIT on Friday picked up two more youths namely Raaja Basumatary from Chirang and Prabin Boro from Bagsa. Both of them have been brought to Guwahati for interrogation.
In yet another development, accused Bimal Mushahary wife Kamala Ramchirary said her husband is a close confidante of a member in the Gogoi cabinet.
According to her Bimal is a Congress activist. Talking to reporters she tried to Mushahary, who worked as Bagsa Congress president contested for the post of executive member from Chapaguri seat in the last BTC poll. She further disclosed that deputy inspector general of police called up him and invited to the office on November 10 before being detained adding that he was not arrested as it was published in a section of media.

Six people died and 38 others have been injured at a road mishap which took place on late Tuesday morning in Numaligarh near Babathan. According to information, a 609 bus bearing No. As-02-9791 from coming Lakhipur, Kaziranga on its way to Deopani Than in Karbi Anglong district fell down on the gorge. Five people died on the spot including the driver Reba Gogoi while one more died on the way to the Guwahati medical College Hospital. Eleven passengers were killed when a Guwahati-Silchar bus skidded off the road and fell into a over 100-metre-deep gorge near Mawryngkneng, about 40 km from Shillong, in East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya on Wednesday morning. Congress is moving neck and neck with the opposition Asom Gana Parishad in the initial trend of the counting of votes that has begun in the morning on Monday. In Guwahati rural, AGP is leading over the ruling party while the AGP trailing behind the Congress by 10 seats in Dibrugarh district.
