UDALGURI: "The exams at the comfort of home– in loose-fitting clothing and with a glass of water handy " yes this has been the experience of the students of a private sector school in Baksa district of Assam which has been termed 'timely' by the guardians.
Amid the coronavirus pandemic which have affected the academic sessions of educational institutions, the private sector school in Baksa district conducted an examination of its students by sending question papers over popular messaging app Whatsapp where the guardians acted as invigilators for their wards on Wednesday.
The unique effort of the school has drawn attention of the people and not only guardians but the locals have also praised the school management for their unique effort.
"Our school Dr.Ananta academy situated at Jalah of Baksa the collaborative efforts of the teachers and guardians successfully held the second unit test examination of the students and the exam was held for a duration of one hour where the answer scripts were sent to the teachers by the guardians," said the principal of the academy, Bhabesh Sarma.
Himashree Boro a guardian whose ward also attended the exam under her supervision said, " In view of the extraordinary situation I think such mechanism must be adopted by all the primary schools where the guardians can act as invigilators."
Mrinal Talukdar a local resident praising the effort of the school said though it is not a full-proof mechanism, at least it can provide succor to the academic sessions and examinations of the school.
