Sonowal attends Dwijing Festival
KOKRAJHAR: The ongoing 4th edition of Dwijing Festival at Aie River along the Hagrama Bridge in Chirang district on Sunday enters eight day that saw huge crowd in the festival venue.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal graced as chief guest in the event on Sunday.
Sonowal said that the Dwijing Festival is regarded as a festival of recreativity and enjoyment environment amongst the society.He has emphasized protection and conservation of river bank sites to be uplifted and beautiful across the state.He has expressed his hopeful that through the Dwijing Festival peoples are getting opportunity to earn livelihoods as festival gathered peoples recreation.
The Dwijing Festival is concluding on January 7 with a colourful programme scheduled.
The festival has marked various programmes including sports,cultural, elephant Safari,Helicopter riding.

Professor Indira Boro, head of the department of Bodo for Bodoland University, has been named for an award from the Sahitya Akademy for translation in Bodo language.
Dr. Boro has been named for the translation of her book Hirimba (originally written in Assamese by Jayanti Gogoi)
Presently, Boro is the head of the department of Bodo at Bodoland University. She has authored many books in Bodo language and contributed a lot to the uplift and development of Bodo literature.
