Int'l paragliding championship from Sunday
Five-day long Bodoland International Accuracy Paragliding Championship will be held from Sunday at Dangdupur Hill, Kokrajhar. 130 participants from ten different countries are going to participate in the event which will showcase attractive paragliding events.
The participating countries includ China, Indonesia, Hongkong, Singapore, Japan,Taiwan, Korea, Nepal, Malaysia and Mongolia.
The event is being organised by tourism department of Bodoland Territorial Council administration.
BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary ceremonially will flagged off the championship on Monday at the Dangdupur Hill.
Deputy chief of BTC and in-charge of Forest & Tourism, Kampa Borgoyary told that Kokrajhar is ready for the championship. He said that there is a good potential of tourism sector in the region and thus BTC tourism department was working for the attracting tourists to the region.

Professor Indira Boro, head of the department of Bodo for Bodoland University, has been named for an award from the Sahitya Akademy for translation in Bodo language.
Dr. Boro has been named for the translation of her book Hirimba (originally written in Assamese by Jayanti Gogoi)
Presently, Boro is the head of the department of Bodo at Bodoland University. She has authored many books in Bodo language and contributed a lot to the uplift and development of Bodo literature.
Several literary lovers and Bodo Sahitya Sabha have congratulated her for being named for the Sahitya Akademy award.
