SAI women beat Bhutan FC

KOKRAJHAR: Sports authority of India(SAI), Kokrajhar women football club defeated Bhutan women football club 8-0 in the Indo-Bhutan women's friendly football match being organized here at Banargaon rural mini stadium in Kokrajhar district on Saturday.
In the friendly football match,SAI Kokrajhar team took the lead in first and second half against the Bhutan women football club and defeated the Bhutan team in 8-0 goals.Bhutan team presented attractive sporting amusements and received laudable moments among the thronging football lovers in the region.
The friendly women's football match was organized to make deepen of the good relationship and co-operation in between India and Bhutan country in near future,w which was organized by Jaiklong sports club,Banargaon.
Yomnam Kamala Devi of SAI was adjusted best player in the match.
Noted social activist, Kokrajhar Jyotika Brahma kicked start the football match in the presence of the large thronging of the friendly match.
The women's football match was organized with the coinciding the ongoing 1st Kamaleswar Basumatary and Charu Bala Basumatary football running trophy -2019.
Each of team members both from Bhutan and India was offered warm welcome and felicitation before kick start of the match.
Winning team SAI was given away a trophy and runners up team was awarded a trophy on the occasion.
Mentioned be that final match of the football trophy will be held on Monday.
Championship would be awarded a trophy and cash INR.30,000 and runners up to be awarded a trophy and cash INR.20,000 respectively.
Barhoongkha AC,Kokrajhar is taking on Jothai sports club,Gendrabill in the final match.
Peoples from all walks of life have expressed their excitement having opportunity to witness the women football friendly match at Banargaon as Bhutan team gathered attractive sports environment,said football lovers.
Brahma has appreciated the organisers for organising the football events which was especially for women.She said that women are coming forward towards uplift in the field of sports,education etc.She has urgedupon the women community to dedicate more in their career building as well social integration development in near future.
She has expressed serious concern over the increasing of atrocities,crimes on women,girl children among society and urged the society to stand united against the anti-social incidents.

3 held, Ganja recovered in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. Hagrama Mohilary, BPF chief, released on bail

BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Pramod Boro, the president of the United People’s Party of Luwahati, filed a complaint against  Mohilary, the former chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, at the court of CJM Kokrajhar for making derogatory remarks about him in February 2020. The bail was granted by Kokrajhar's chief judicial magistrate.    

Cycle Rally to Create Awareness on Elimination of Tuberculosis

A cyclothon for TB mukt Bharat awareness programme was held in Kokrajhar today to create awareness about the disease among the society. Road mishap kill 2 in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Two people were killed on the spot in a late-night road accident in Balajan Pakriguri under Kokrajhar police station. According to police, two people were travelling on a bike and met with mishaps that claimed two people on the spot at a roadside parking dumper in Pakriguri along JD Road late at night around 2.15 am on Tuesday night under Kokrajhar police station. The deceased were identified as Geremsha Swargiary (25) of Dumuruguri in Baksa district and Lwitwma Basumatary (26) of Narabari Kokrajhar. Badminton Championship Concludes

Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district. All together 95 teams of across the state  participated in a championship that saw a healthy sporting environment in the region which was organised by Kokrajhar District Badminton Association (KDBA). Lightning kills 3 in Chirang

At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground. The injured persons were immediately rushed to the Bengtol missionary hospital where three persons were declared brought dead. TB awareness programme held in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: For increasing the awareness about TB among pregnant mothers and adolescent girls in a meeting, Jon Andalon addressed the citizens and local health workers at Beswargaon and Guwabari Health Centres in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday. Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science Centre has been disconnected from electricity supply due to non payment of bills

Electricity to the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science center was cut off because there's an outstanding bill of 1.83 lakh. Due to power cutoff, the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science centre is currently not functional. Sarbananda Sonowal, former Chief Minister of Assam, inaugurated the Kokrajhar Planetarium and Science centre to facilitate the upliftment of science and technology in the Bodo Territorial Council districts.

Bodo Harimu Afad observes 30th Foundation Day
