National Nutrition Month observed

National Nutrition Month was observed at Raidingia under Khagarijan Child Development Project Office on Wednesday with a daylong programme. The programme held at 485 no. Raidingia L.P School premises was presided over by Nitul Bordoloi. Rubirani Bora , anganwadi supervisor , Raidingia circle , explained the aims and objective of the Nutrition Month to the gatherings.

Tarun Handrique , CDPO,Khagarijan Block , in his speech appealed all to spread broad awareness on the issues related to malnutrition like stunting,under-nutrition,anaemia and low birth eight in children. He said that Nutrition Month would focus on adolescent girls,pregnant women and lactating mothers to eliminate the deficiencies prevailing in the health sector.

Rulimoni Saikia gave valuable suggestion on the importance of nutrition for children and pregnant mothers.   

The programme was held under the Poshan Abhiyaan celebration of the Poshan Pakhwada, which started on 1 September and will continue till 30 September. The programme was attended by hundreds of  women and children of the locality.
