NDFB-S cadre apprehended in Kokrajhar

KOKRAJHAR: Security forces belonging to Assam Police and Indian army have apprehended a Myanmar trained cadre of the Saoraigwra faction of National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB-S) from Ultapani Lananyapur on Wednesday evening in Kokrajhar district and recovered arms from his possession.

A joint team of Assam Police and Shikh Light Infantry 12th battalion of Indian army carried out a search operation against the militant outfit at the Ultapani area on Wednesday evening along the India-Bhutan border under Bishmuri police outpost in Kokrajhar district and able to apprehend the NDFB-S cadre and another cadre had managed to escaped from the area

The cadres are closely associated with Batha group of the NDFB-S outfit organisation.Recently,a few members of the militant outfit organisation have arrived in Kokrajhar district from and its adjoining areas from Myanmar and thus they are taking base in Kokrajhar district areas.The arrested cadre was dentified as Thumba Narzary of Besorkona in Kokrajhar district.

He was arrested during search operation and accompanied by another cadre who had managed to escaped. He was identified as Jewel Narzary alias Tamang.

A country made 7.65 mm pistol,two round ammunition, cash INR 14,600, a Kukhri and several incriminating documents recovered from him.

He was member of 42nd batch of the NDFB-S militant outfit organisation and Myanmar trained up in the outfit organisation.A case has been lodged with police in this regard.

Superintendent of Police,Kokrajhar Rajen Singh told that the NDFB-S cadre was arrested by security forces from Ultapani area during the search operation.He said that the arrested cadre was a closed associated with Batha who is strongly leading the organisation.He said that police administration was working tough with strong initiatives against the militant outfits.He said that police administration has intensified strong counter insurgency operation in the district and arrested many as well recovered arms and ammunition.
