Kaziranga National Park will be closed for tourists from May 16.
A notice issued by Divisional Forest Officer Rohini Ballav Saikia on Friday said "Kaziranga National Park will remain close for visitors from 16th May, 2019 untill further orders".

The regional meteorological centre in Guwahati recorded a maximum
temperature of 38.8°C on Wednesday. It predicts hardly any relief
during the next 48 hours. Schools and colleges are remaining closed
under the impact of the heat-wave. The Kamrup (Metro) district
administration has instructed schools across Guwahati to remain shut
on Thursday and Friday.
Amid growing revolt against Tarun Gogoi, AICC has ruled out a change in the chief ministership which has downplayed the dissidence.Party spokesperson Renuka Chowdhary told reporters in Delhi, “some people have certain views. They have come here to voice those. A group of rebel Congress MLAs have lodged serious complaints to the party leadership against the autocratic style of functioning of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. They alleged that the state is now being run by officials where they have no any say.The MLAs claimed to have got the support of 40 others.
