Nath Yogi students union opposes CAB
The All Assam Nath Yogi Students Union has dead opposed the Citizenship(Amendment) Bill 2016 and vow to take out massive protest against the Bill in coming days.
A two day special convention of the All Assam Nath Yogi Students Union begins from Sunday at Dr Bhupen Hazarika Mukoli Manch ground, Bhutiapara in Kokrajhar.
President of the students union, Lakhan Nath hoisted union flag followed homage to martyrs by Arabninda Nath, general secretary of the students union.
Dr Prafullo Kumar Nath, Guwahati University will grace as chief guest. Peasant leader Akhil Gogoi, AASU president Dipangko Kumar Nath are attending as guests and the open session of the convention on Monday.
The students union dead opposed the CAB and demanded cancellation of the Bill.The students union demanded ST status to the Nath Yogi community in the state.
General Secretary of the students union, Arabinda Nath strongly opposed the CAB and warned to take strong protest against the Bill.He said that the CAB bill is not to be accepted for the state and the strong protest would be continued in the state. He demanded ST status must be granted to the Nath Yogi community as community has been demanding since long years.
President of the Union, Lakhan Nath told that protest against CAB would be continued along with other organizations of the state.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district.
