Pre-Christmas celebration in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar: A Car rally was carried out in Kokrajhar with the coincide celebration of Pre-Christmas at Kokrajhar Town Baptist Church complex in Kokrajhar,heart of BTAD administration on Tuesday.

Christian devotees and followers in large numbers from different communities have joined hands with traditional music instruments in the carol dance pn the pre-Christmas celebration ahead few days Christmas Day celebration.

The pre-christmas celebration was being organized by Kokrajhar Town Baptist Church at Kadamtala in Kokrajhar district. Devotees and followers of Christian religion thronged to the celebration and offered their prayers to Lord Jesus Christ ahead Christmas Day to be celebrated on December 25 next.

A grand car rally was organised in Kokrajhar,which was started from Town Baptist Church comolex,traversed to JD Road,Vivekananda Path,RNB Road,new fly over and concluded at the starting point.The rally extended good will messages for bringing peace and integration among all sections of the community ahead the Merry Christmas celebration.

Especially, it is to be mentioned that the pre-Christmas celebration is seeing participation from different communities,apart from Bodo,Rabha,Garo,Adivashi,Santhali who have participated with their traditional attires and traditional music instruments,like Kham,Serja,Sifung,Mandhal,Dhol,Harmonium that are performed with sweet prayer songs in Bodo and several languages for offering prayer song to Lord Jesus Christ. Young devotees and participants presented Carol dance,prayer songs in English, Bodo and several languages on the celebration.

Orgnaiser of the pre-christmas,Reoreoa Narzihary told that this is an initiative to offer prayer and remember of Jesus Christ ahead celebration Merry Christmas day celebration. Devotees and followers participated the celebration with festive fervor to mark the celebration.

‘We celebrate the pre-Chirstmas with traditional attire and music instruments through which Bodo as well language as well as cultural values could be survived among human society’, he said.

Participants have expressed their happiness after getting opportunity to be part on the occasion said that it is an occasion to give opportunity among devotees ahead Merry-Christmas Day celebration in Kokrajhar.

‘We are lucky one to get enjoy in the celebration where Christ believers gathered at the church complex’, participants said.

Footballer Apurna Narzary to receive Emerging Player award in Bodoland Territorial Region

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). BTR Peace Accord Day celebrated

On Friday, the government of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) observed the third BTR Peace Accord Day as "Day of Peace" on Friday.  A massive bike peace rally was held in Kokrajhar, the "City of Peace." ISPL 2022: Bodoland lifts trophy

Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) team won the trophy defeating Lai Autonomous Council (LADC) of Mizoram 1-0 in the final match of inter sixth schedule premier league -2022 being held at SAI SAG center,Kathalguri Titaguri in Kokrajhar district.
