Quest for a vibrant career

UDALGURI: A day-long career counselling workshop specifically aimed at equipping students with various perspective of selecting one's career in animation and VFX,design and photography,computer hardware and networking along with honing one's soft skills was held at Tangla College on Friday. The seminar was held under the aegis of a pioneering private institute of Mangaldai, Ignited Minds in collaboration of IQAC cell of Tangla College. A three member counselling team headed by Acclaimed photographer and Director of Ignited Minds,Udayaditya Kashyap accompanied by Abhijit Roy and Jahnabi Rai Deka gave a brief overview on the sectors which are rapidly growing industries in the state. The students were apprised of vast job opportunities in the fields which are still in nascent phase in the state. Speaking on the ocassion,Udayaditya Kashyap said," We have seen rising cases in the number of students who are unemployed even after getting multiple degrees and qualification. This modern-day problem needs to be addressed with a lot of attention as the consequences are grave. With time passing by, we have seen a lot of new profession coming to the forefront and pretty interesting all of them have had good scopes and utilization in the market. He further added that, "Going with the flow has made it necessary today that career counselling should be provided to students so that they realise their true potential and strength and try to be a professional who actually loves what he does. Today we have more job seekers than job providers, a lot of useful professions are not been opted for by the students just because of the fact that they are unaware of it. Understanding one's field of interest and honing one's skills are one of the most important aspects of the process of career building." The programme inaugurated by Principal of Tangla College,Dr. Prasen Daimari was also addressed by IQAC co-ordinator, Dr. Satyendra Sarmah and HOD of Assamese, Ghateswar Baruah.It is to be mentioned that Ignited Minds is a first of its kind institution with wide array of personality development courses along with diplomas in wide arenas of topics catering the need of students of Darrang and Udalguri.

Orang National Park, Assam: A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday evening, August 28, 2024, when a forest guard was fatally attacked by a Royal Bengal Tiger. Dhanmoni Deka, a 32-year-old forest guard, was patrolling the Bilpara range with a fellow guard when the attack took place. Udalguri:  A court in Udalguri has sentenced five people to life imprisonment for the 2017 murder of Sahid Jamal in Kalaigaon. District and Sessions Judge N. Senabaya Deori pronounced the verdict on June 20, convicting Tomser Ali, Md. Lal Miah, Md. Aibar Ali, Badsa Mondal, and Gajibur Rahman.
