Woman gangraped, killed in Bijni

BIJNI: Yet another incident of gruesome gangrape and murder sends huge shock, anger and acrimony across the state of Assam on Friday. 

The incident took place in Chirang district of BTAD area where a woman was believed to have gangraped and killed at an open field at night. 

According to police, local residents spotted the body of the woman at Mulapothar in the morning who on Thursday afternoon was attending the Bihu function where Zubeen Garg performed. 

Bijni police have registered a case and investigation is going on. It takes place hardly a month after three such cases of gangrape and murder rattled the state apart from other cases of sexual crimes forcing the authority to set up fast track courts in all district to try the accused.
