Kokrajhar: The Ronjali Bwisagu/Rongjali Bihu celebration is going on across the state, peoples of Bodo community is also celebrating the Bwisagu Pwrbw (Bwisagu Utsov) in Kokrajhar with beautiful Bwisagu song, dance that created amusement.
Huge Bodo peoples with Dokhona, Jwmgra, Gamcha, Aronai participated the Bwisagu dance, song with traditional music instruments like Kham, shifung, Harmonium, Jotha, Gwmkao etc at the open Bwisagu celebration at Hadanpara Gwthar Khungtaisali in Kokrajhar. The Rongjali Bwisagu was organized by greater Hadanpara village committee (ward no. 8) in Kokrajhar. Participants performed attractive Bwisagu dance, song with huge entertainment in the region.
‘When Rongjali Bwisagu season comes,Bodo peoples become joyous to dance and sing songs to welcome new year(Gwdan Bwswr).We today organized Rongjali Bwisagu to celebrate the new year as well spring season with pomp and gaity’,said a Bwisagu Organiser in Kokrajhar.
Lekhika Sangstha Assam conferred the Monica Baruah Memorial Journalism Award, 2022 to independent journalist and environmentalist Mubina Akhtar in a solemn function held at the Asom Sahitya Sabha auditorium in Guwahati recently. Lekhika Sangstha, the biggest organization of women writers of Assam, instituted the award in memory of Monica Baruarh, a journalist who worked for All India Radio and the weekly—Asam Bani in the early 70s. The award was given away by Pranay Bordoloi, consulting editor, NK TV in the presence of a host of luminaries.
