ULFA-I rebel held in Sonari

NAMRUP: Police and army claimed to have captured a hardcore ULFA-I rebel during a combing operation in Sonari who was among those threatening a section of coal traders in Nimonagarh and Tiru.
Acting on a tip off army troops based at Maibela and Sonari police raided the Hotel Seven Sister where they captured the rebel to be identified as Prasanta Chutia alias Tankeswar.
Police further seized a 9 MM pistol, live bullets, a map along with some other incriminating materials from his possession who hails from Lobginori area.
Interrogation is going on to extract more information on the rebel activities in the area.
