KOHMA: In a huge blow for BJP a couple of weeks before the assembly polls, many BJP leaders and activists in Peren district have quit the party for denying ticket to a candidate whom they wanted. The high voltage drama in the pre poll political landscape in the Nagaland district took place in 6 Tening constituency where the state party leadership denied ticket to Zamdi Domta.
His supporters held an emergency meeting in Dimapur on Monday where the block level party workers deserted the party and decided to support the NPF candidate. All these party workers hail from from Peren Town, New Peren and Jalukie Town who on Tuesday declared their support to the NPF candidate.
The supporters of Iherie Ndang belonging to Poilwa New (Namci) under the same Constituency had resigned en bloc to support the candidature of TR Zeliang. Under 6 Tening Assembly Constituency, BJP workers resigned en bloc on Monday to support NPF Candidate, NR Zeliang. NDPP candidates in the two Constituencies of Peren District are still banking on NDPP Chief Ministerial Candidate and former Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio for election funding.
