Senior journalist Daya Nath Singh passes away

Guwahati: Senior journalist Daya Nath Singh passed away this afternoon after a brief illness. Singh, 82, was associated with various newspapers like News Star, NewsFront, Northeast Daily and lately he used to contribute news based articles for various media outlets like EasternbPanorama, Merinews, Assam Times etc.

Hailed from Bihar, Singh left behind his wife, five daughters and a host of relatives. He was also associated with Guwahati Press Club as its office secretary for the last 15 years. His cremation will take place tomorrow (29 January) and prior to that he will be offered tribute by the journalists with others at 10.30 am at the press club premises.

Guwahati Press Club along with various scribes’ bodies including All Assam Photo Journalist Association, Journalists’ Forum Assam, Electronic Media Forum Assam, Northeast Union of Working Journalists etc expressed profound grief at his demise and paid condolences to the bereaved family.
