Bodoland Wushu Championship from Jan 8
Kokrajhar, Jan 5: Brisk preparations are going in full swing to host the 7th Bodoland Wushu Championship at Gossaigaon Nehru Stadium with three-day programme scheduled beginning from January 8 in Kokrajhar district.
Speaking the reporters at a Press Conference held at Kokrajhar Press Club, Jubiraj Basumatary, president of the Bodoland Wushu Association said nearly 400 participants from six districts; four from BTAD and Sonitpur and Goalpara districts are participating as invitee district. The championship has been organized by Bodoland Wushu Association.
A reception committee was formed with Sabharam Basumatary, ex-BTC executive member as president and Rahindra Brahma as secretary for smooth functioning of the championship.
The championship will be organized in three category-junior,sub junior and senior. Winners in the championship will be forwarded to the national championship.
Basumatary has appealed to all sections of citizens to cooperate in the championship to make grand success.

At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground.
The injured persons were immediately rushed to the Bengtol missionary hospital where three persons were declared brought dead.
The deceased were identified as Dilip Mushahary (40), Rayanti Basumatary (40) and Mangkeswar Basumatary (45).
