GUWAHATI: The Dibrugarh police probing the APSC scam have indicted 25 more civil and police officers in its next charge sheet filed before a special court on Thursday.
The special operation unit set up to probe the cash for job scam has chargesheeted all the accused they have arrested already whom the court sent to the Guwahati Central Jail.
The police have enclosed the details of the forensic reports, answer scripts of the accused officers in the civil service examination along with the charge sheet filed before the court.
This is said to be the third charge sheet in this nefarious case where the candidates who bribed chairman Rakesh Paul and his associates to ensure selection and with his direct support they resorted to fraud in the answer scripts.
On receipt of the charge sheet, the special judge has asked the police team led by additional SP SS Panesar to file the status report of investigation by Febryary 22.
Police have already indicted chairman Rakesh Paul, two of his associates and driver in this scam. All of them have already been sent to the jail.

Over 20 people have been injured when a passenger bus slipped into deep gorge in near Guwahati on Saturday.The accident took place at around 2-30 in the afternoon when the passenger bus was on its way to Kamakhya and suddenly it lost control and fell on a gorge where several people were rescued by police and local residents.
Governor J B Patnaik said that the government's counter insurgency operations have fetched dividends where the republic day boycott call was defied. In his address after unfurling the national flag in Khanapara in Guwahati, he said that steps are being taken to bring about overall socio-economic development in the state.

Normal situation prevailed on Republic Day on Saturday. Trains and air services operated as usual though long distance and city private buses kept off the roads as the transport operators gave holiday to their staff on account of R-Day. Buses, private taxis and autorickshaws of state-run Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) plied as usual. Defying militant diktat, Republic Day was celebrated across the stat with much fanfare and cultural extravaganza. A powerful Improvised Explosive Devices was recovered ahead of the Republic Day celebrations in Darrang district on Thursday.The bomb was found near the Mangaldoi police station and Republic Day parade ground in the morning. Guwahati Police have arrested 8 persons including a Mizoram forest department official and recovered some rare species of snake in Guwahati.
