Kokrajhar: The publishers and sellers have renewed their decisions. They will not halt their strike. "Now its time for a massive and indefinite strike in protest against the government's policy for publishing and distributing school books free of cost among the students. It would force us to bear the brunt. We are facing huge loss,"said agitated members of the All Assam Publisher and Book Sellers Association.
A four-day state wide strike which started from Wednesday hit hard the book lovers as all publishing houses and book stalls remained closed in Kokrajhar district of lower Assam. Book lover and readers are face hardships while coming to buy books or publishing related materials in the bookstalls during four day strike. All kinds of publishing house and bookstalls remained closed with the part of state wide strike in Kokrajhar along with rest of the state.
Agitated members of the association staged protest demonstration with poster and placards in Kokrajhar on Saturday, demanded early solve to the issue and demands for paving the way welfare among publishing house,book sellers.
