DIBRUGARH: Finally Akhil Gogoi could not walk out of the jail even a day after the Gauhati High Court set aside the KMSS leader's arrest under NSA.
The Dudhnoi police have got Gogoi in their demand on Friday evening in connection with two cases pending against the peasant leader.
A team of police moved the Dibrugarh CJM court in the evening seeking the RTI activist in their custody producing some papers before it.
Akhil Gogoi then was arrested for allegedly removing a signboard of the Dindayal Upadhyay College amid a simmering controversy over the issue.
He is being brought to Dudhnoi to be produced in a local court on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Gogoi's rearrest has triggered widespread protest across the state. KMSS leaders and workers in the nook and corner of the state are staging protest on Saturday demanding his immediate release.
