GOLAGHAT: Several students sustained injury when security forces sprang upon a group of protesters who hit the streets in Golaghat on Wednesday in protest against the Bogidhola incident.
Hundreds of AATSAA and KMSS students took out a huge procession in the town demanding action against the tea garden owner who shot at 12 workers for demanding wages.
After submitting a memorandum before the SDO,the studentleaders were addressing the media. Suddenly police and para military forces sprang upon the protesters and started beating up the crowd.
Nearly a dozen of them were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Many organizations and individuals have vehemently condemned the incident saying that the government lacks tolerance and tried to stop the protest with police lathicharge.
