AASAA alleges political patronage in Bogidhola

KOKRAJHAR: The All Adivasi Students Association of Assam has alleged political patronage behind the recent shoot out in Bogidhola tea garden where 12 workers hurt in firing by the owner.

Talking to reporters in Kokrajhar on Saturday, AASAA president Stephen Lakra said without political support or behind powerful minister and MLA the owner could not have gone to that extent.

He said it might be a conspiracy to lock out the tea garden since it has not been running according to the existing set of rules and regulations.

The influential Adivasi student body has demanded withdrawal of the lock out to allow the estate to restore normal functioning.

Lakra further has criticised the BJP led government for falling to firmly deal with the incident where an owner shot at workers only for demanding wages.
