PMAY scheme distributed in Kokrajhar

Assam forest minister and local MLA of Kokrajhar east LAC Pramila Rani Brahma inaugurates the ceremoniall distribution of letter intent(LOI) to the Prime Minister Awas Yajana of Housing Financial Assistance((PMAY-HFA) at a programme held at KDSA stadium in Kokrajhar on Thursday.

The programme was organised by BTC Urban Development Department in association with Kokrajhar Municipality Board to distribute the cheques and sanction letters of the PMAY ventures among urban beneficiaries. Altogether 3363 beneficiaries from four BTAD districts are getting the PMAY-HFA scheme to construct healthy housing in their respective areas. In Kokrajhar, 2554 beneficiaries have been sanctioned to the scheme,Basugaon town got 526,Kajalgaon 156 and Bijni town 127 under the scheme.

Minister Brahma while distributing the sanctioned letter said that state government has been emphasized to give housing facilities among citizens to make healthy living.She said that citizens must be uplifted through the healthy leading life and integrated society.She has urged beneficiaries to implement the houses that are providing from government among needy citizens.
 ‘I do hope the beneficiaries are getting the housing projects under Prime Minister Awas Yayana (PMAY).It is an initiative to meet people’s needy and housing supports in the state’,Brahma added.

Bishnu Narzary,chairman of KMB told that PMAY beneficiaries were given away letter of intend to construct urban houses among the needy citizens.

BTC executive members Doneswar Goyary,Rajiob Brahma,Niranjan Baruah,Deputy Commissioner,Kokrajhar,Daorao Dekhreb Narzary,chairman of Kokrajhar Development Authority were prominent attendees on the occasion.

KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. The arrested persons were identified as Hasanur Rahman, Mithun Miya of Mankachar and Mukesh Kumar of Bihar. KOKRAJHAR: Two people were killed on the spot in a late-night road accident in Balajan Pakriguri under Kokrajhar police station. According to police, two people were travelling on a bike and met with mishaps that claimed two people on the spot at a roadside parking dumper in Pakriguri along JD Road late at night around 2.15 am on Tuesday night under Kokrajhar police station. Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district. At least three persons died and several others received injuries due to the lightning struck at Anthaibari under Bengtol police outpost in Chirang district on Wednesday afternoon. According to the source, three persons have died and several other people from Anthaibari area received serious injuries due to heavy lightning this afternoon while people were watching a football match at Anthaibari playground.
