Nagalim: Congmen hit streets in Mariani

JORHAT:Over three thousand Congress leaders and workers hit the streets in Mariani on Monday opposing the alleged move to allow Nagalim to expand to some parts of Assam.

Led by Congress MLA and former chief minister Tarun Gogoi, Kaliabor MP Gaurav Gogoi, Mariani MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi, Nazira MLA Debobrata Saikia, the crowd of Congress thronged in Donikona area alleging a conspiracy to leave if to Nagaland in the light of the two year long peace framework reached between Centre and NSCN-IM.

Raising slogans against the secret and undisclosed deal, MP Gaurav Gogoi said they will not allow even an inch of land to go to Nagaland. "We won't allow it to happen. We will foil the attempt," said Gogoi addressing the huge crowd.

Former chief minister and Titabor MLA Tarun Gogoi dared Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make the pact public. "If really you are not reaching the deal according to the wish of the rebels why you are scared of making the deal public?," he said and urged the people to go all out against the move.
