Startling revelation of advt scam

The top investigating officers of the chief minister's vigilance cell have been interrogating Ranjit Gogoi on Wednesday where some stunning revelations are believed to have surfaced in the multi crore advertisement scam.

Those probing the scam started grilling the publicity director from 9 in the morning which continued for nearly 8 hours. Gogoi is believed to have named a powerful political circle in Dispur along with a few advertisement agencies.

Then he was sent to Dispur police station for the night. He would be produced before the special court in Guwahati on Thursday.

Gogoi was arrested on Wednesday after police questioned him for nearly four hours and the court remanded  him to three days police custody.

In a related development, Rajib Bora, the proprietor of an advertisement agency has been asked to surrender. But he has gone untraced after the Gauhati High Court rejected his anticipatory bail.

A few more officials from Janasangyog might be arrested to widen the net of the ad scam which took place at thr fag end of the Tarun Gogoi regime where a huge amount of money to the tune of ₹30 crore was siphoned off.
