Get-together of violence victims at Kokrajhar
Police administration in Kokrajhar has been organised ‘samannay’-a get together cum ineteraction programme among violence affected victims at Science College auditorium in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.Violence victim’s family member and their children participated the programme and showcase cultural activities on the occasion.
The programme has organised by police in association with National Foundation for Communal Harmony(NFCH),New Delhi and highlighted the necessity of the human resources building in the country through the welfare initiated by NFCH under the ministry of Home Affairs,Government of India.
Anurag Agarwal, IGP(BTAD) attended the programme.Agarwal said that the police administration was woeking to the welfare of the persons who were affected in the violence,communal clashes in the state.
Nearly 12,200 children have been covered across the country since 1992, in which Assam and Manipur state recorded 1000 and 2000 children covered up respectively. In Kokrajhar district itself 330 reported due to violence and terrorist affected incident. In Assam's Kokrajhar, Baksa, Dima Hasao and Tinsukia districts have been affected severely due to violence situations.
The foundation has been implementing programmes and projects for the effective rehabilitation of child victims of communal,caste,ethnic,terrorist and ither form of violence/clashes which fractured social harmony.The emphasised remains on providing assistance to such children for their education nad promoting communal harmony and national integrtaion through varios kind of promotional activities.
The foundation has also been undertakes activities whichj highlight and strengthen the bonds of unity and affinity between different religious and other groups in the country and encourgae activities which promote beliefness in the principles of non violence in resolving dipsutes between different religious and other other groups in society.
RS Tripathi,DDO and Programmer of the NFCH,Delhi disclosed the information said that violence affected persons are being given financial supports while they are acquire higher studies.

Kokrajhar, May 2: A search operation that began yesterday evening concluded today with the recovery of three bodies from the Beki River near Manas National Park in Baksa district.
The three youths, identified as Deep Saha, Raj Saha, and Abhijit Karmakar, all from Barpeta Road, reportedly went missing after entering the river for a swim on Wednesday evening. Local sources informed that authorities, including the police, SDRF, and local residents, launched a search operation late Wednesday night.
