Rich tributes were paid to Former AASU activist and a torchbearer of Assam Movement Girish Chandra Bhattacharjya at a special tributary programme held in the premises of Swahid Bhawan of Tanglaon Sunday. The programme organised by All Udalguri and Darrang Students' Union in co-ordination of Darrang-Udalguri Prakton Sathirtha Mancha in association of AASU Tangla unit. The day long programme which started with flag hoisting was followed by swahid tarpan,floral tribute to the portait of Girish Ch. Bhattavharjya followed by an All-religion prayers, were Gita, Quran, Bible were recited. A memorial lecture was also held which was presided over by Tilak Prasad Baruah former President of Darrang Students' Union.
