A two day special session of the BTC Legislative Assembly is underway in Kokrajhar from Monday. On the opening day, the autonomous council members discussed the developmental initiatives and the progress of implementation.
Opposition members demanded an updated inclusive procedure of the Bodoland Territorial Council Education (Provincialisation of Services of Teachers and Reorganization of Educational Institutions) Bill, 2017 to make proper inclusion of all educational institutions in the region.
The special session has been summoned to discuss the educational bill that had been deferred the passing of the Bodoland Territorial Council education (Provincialisation of Services of teachers and reorganization of educational institutions) Bill,2017.
The session was chaired by Tridip Daimary,speaker of the BTC Legislative Assembly.The educational bill is likely to be passed on Tuesday.
Rwngwra Narzary, BTC MCLA said that the special session highlighted needy of the amendment on some clauses for making inclusive way till 2017 update to the greater interest of the educational sector.
‘We (MCLAs) put demand update till 2017 instead of based year 2011-12 to pave way well educational services in the region. Include all venture institutions and make healthy educational environment’, Narzary said. He has expressed his hopeful that the bill will be passed with an inclusive way in the special session on Tuesday.
In his reply to a question, Hagrama Mohilary said that the Debitola development block has been functioning smoothly and all officials’ correspondence are made in proper way. He said the general people under this block receiving the services regularly from the block staff and no public grievances are come to the notice against the concern block office.
‘There is not available on internet facilities around office complex of Debitola development office. To operate official works with internet online, like MIS etc therefore, the block office is functioning at Gauripur town rented house temporarily’, he said.
