Solung passes off on a colorful note

The Closing ceremony of the five-day socio-cultural festival celebration of the 51st Central Central Solung celebration here at Giidi Notko,Pasighat was graced by Chief Guest MLA Kento Rina, who along with Guest of Honour , Shri Puna Hinda, one of the prominent entrepreneurs of the state, also inaugurated the Grand Finale event , Miss Lune 2017, the annual cultural event to celebrate women empowerment, and the cultural spirit of the Adi Community.


The Chief Guest greeting the Adi Community on the occasion, noted with pride that the young generation of the community are equally fluent in their tribal dialect, which he observed would go long in the preservation and promotion of Indigenous languages. He also remarked that Solung is one of the eagerly awaited major festivals of the community, promoting and enriching the cultural values and life of the community.

Festivals also help us to showcase and celebrate the richness of our indigenous and traditional cuisines, he added.

Further, lauding the progressive spirit of the people, he said that Pasighat is a pioneer in many spheres including in the field of education and also as knowledge centre.

The 36 Nari Koyu MLA, encouraging the participating contestants of Miss Lune 2017, termed their participation as itself showing their positive spirit.

On the occasion, he called for discouraging Bandhs, as it is the common man and the grassrooot people whose livelihood is affected . On the occasion, the MLA also announced Rs. 3 lacs for the protection works of the Cutural Venue Giidi Notko and also made special mention of the people of Bogong Banngo for their contribution in the development of the centurion town .

The Guest of Honour , Shri Puna Hinda, also greeted the people on the festive occasion and assured his continued support for the promotion of the rich culture and heritage of the Adi Community. Vice-Chairperson,CSFCC 2017 Mongol Gao extended the Vote of Thanks. Till the filing of this report the the Miss Lune Contest was in progress.

The capital authority is fully prepared to foil the 12 hour Itanagar bandh salted for Monday. In an order issued on Saturday, the deputy commissioner cum district magistrate Mige Kamki has called the All Nyishi Youth Association-sponsored bandh unlawful asking the organization to call off it.   The authority has directed all offices and banks, schools and colleges, shops and markets to ensure normal functionings in the entire capital complex on Monday. There is no impending threat to the Nabam Tuki government in Arunachal Pradesh if Bosiram Siram is to be believed. Attending a public meeting at Yagrung village on Friday, the chief minister’s adviser said no revolt would be able to topple the Tuki government. “There is no chance of change of leadership.The government has taken appropriate action against some MLAs and ministers for their anti party activities. Amid an escalating crisis within the Arunachal Pradesh Congress legislative body, chief minister Nabam Tuki inducted 3 cabinet ministers a day after Governor JP Rajkhowa accepted Tuki's suggestion for removal of four cabinet ministers.
