AKRSU threatens mass agitation

The All Koch Rajbongshi Students Union(AKRSU) has warned of a mass agitation in support of Scheduled Tribe(ST) status to the Koch Rajbongshis and reconstruction of Kamatapur state within Indian constitution.

The 48-hours Assam bandh hits normal life in lower Assam districts, including BTAD four districts on Thursday.

Bandh supporters staged protest demonstration with burning tyres at Bongaigaon main road and shouted slogans demanded earky granting ST status and recnstruction of Kamatapur state.

Road communication along the National Highways look deserted on the day due to bandh.Business instututions,bazar,market remained closed for consecutive second day. Most of the government offices have seen thin attendance.However,emergency services like water,milk,medical,education related examinations were exempted from the purview of the bandh.

The AKRSU has claimed that the bandh received full response in the region and passed of peaceful as declared.

Pradeep Ray,president of AKRSU accused that BJP led alliance government at centre and state have  failed to fulfill the hopes and aspiration of the peoples as they promised during the election manifestos in the region. He said that there was no commuincation from government itself over the observing of Assam bandh for 48-hours which has passed today second day with evoked full response.

 ‘ The students’ union and Koch Rajbongshi community wants fulfillment of promises kept by saffron party,but so far no any initiatives are taken to the promised’,Ray alleged.

The mass movement will be carried out in suuport of ST status and reconstruction of Kamatapur till achieved  of the issues and demands of the Koch Rajbongshi community.

He has expressed displeasure over the government for not taking any initiative to solve the issue and demands of the students’ union. He has warned to take path of armed struggled if government donot take stern maesures to solve the demands of the Koch Rajbongshis in immediate manner.

‘If government fail to make early solution of the issue and demands of the Koch Rajbongshis,time will make compelled to take undemocratic agitation to put pressure government’,Pradeep Ray added.
