Panic at Christ Jyoti School over bomb

On Tuesday,16 August at around 8.30 am, the Christ Jyoti School of Nagaon was shaken by a phone call that was received by the Father of the school. The phone call created a panic among the Teaching staffs, School authority and the Students community. According to information, the Father of the school received a phone call on the school's land line number where it was said that there was a bomb kept inside the school premises and soon it was going to blast.The Father soon informed the police about the call and the district administration as well.

The police reached the spot and shifted the school students to a secure place.But Police could not find out any bomb in the school campus. Police investigation is on to find out the caller.No one has been arrested till now.

I was present at time at school. Soon after the school assembly we were taken to back field. It was just a panic situation all around the field. We were more worried about our school than our lives. I hope CJS nvr ends. Long live CJS.

i still remember that day...i was worried...i loved the school...just prayed that nothing bad should happen..by the grace of the Almighty...we were lucky that the call was just a hoax

Kampur-Nagaon ASTC service flagged off

Raha, Nagaon: Assam State Transport Corporation(ASTC) bus service from Kampur to Nagaon via Kampur-Raha route was flagged off on August 30 by the divisional superintendent, Apurba Barkakati of ASTC amidst cheers of the local citizens. A meeting was held on the occasion under the presidentship of Bibhuti Bhusan Borthakur, State NSUI president, attended by a number of prominent personalities of Kampur, besides ASTC officials and local people.It should be mentioned here that this service has been demanded by the people of Kampur for a long time.

States first record room to be set up in Nagaon

Raha: The State Forest Minister Rokibull Hussain has at last shown interest to set up the state's first Record Room in Nagaon where all officials and non-officials records of Nagaon district will be preserved in a scientific way. In a recent meeting held at Nagaon Circuit House under the presidentship of RokibullHussain, it has been decided to complete the preservation works within one year. The meeting was attended by the eminent litterateur-journalist Homen Borgohain, Historian Dr Rajen Saikia, scholar Dr Naren Kalita andthe D C of Nagaon Dr J Balaji besides the local citizens and other officials from the administrative section.
