Candle rally at Tezpur varsity

The Tezpur Central University students took out a candle march on Sunday evening in protest against the rape of a 12-year-old girl in Margherita.

Nearly 300 students of the varsity participated in the  silent march protest demanding exemplary punishment of the Buddhist monk.

It may be noted that a class 6  girl was brutally raped by a Buddhist monk named Indensa on August 3. The victim and her elder brother,  residents of Jagun Lakhla village had visited the temple at Namdang to offer prayer when the incident took place.
