All Rabha Students Union (ARSU), Chayagaon Anchalik Committee has organised a day long career awareness programme for the locality of Chaygaon at Pantan High School on 14th July. This programme has been a part of the ongoing special summer coaching programme organised by ARSU at the same venue. Ranjan K Baruah, Career Mentor from North East Youth Foundation and mentor of Rabha Community Education Cell was the resource person. He had focused on important attribute required for getting good marks in examination and also to stay focus and enhance confidence. Speaking on different career avenues he also responded to the queries asked by the participating school and some college students. Arati Rabha from Chaygaon College and Hemanta Rabha from Narengi Anchalik College also spoke on the occasion. Subhash Rabha, Education Secretary of ARSU moderated the programme which has been attended by Ramakanta Rabha, Vice Chairman of Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council Dinesh Rabha, Head Master of the school apart from other teachers. ARSU also felicitated the teachers who rendered their services during free summer coaching camp for the betterment of the students of the locality.
Representatives from various indigenous groups and environmental organizations convened in Gangtok, Sikkim, for the North East India Meet on Free Flowing Rivers. The gathering, hosted by the Affected Citizens of Teesta, Centre for Research and Advocacy (Manipur), and the Borok Peoples Human Rights Organization, concluded with a significant resolution aimed at safeguarding the region's rivers and biodiversity.
"We recognize the intrinsic rights of rivers to flow freely and the vital relationship between indigenous communities and their natural resources," emphasized a spokesperson from the conference.
