Six relief camps opened

A total six relief camps have been opended for the flood affected peoples in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts in last 48-hours as Gaurang, Champamati, Sankosh, Modati, Gurufela,Saralbhanga and Aie rivers are flowing above their danger levels on Tuesday.

56 villages are affected in the flash floods in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts with damaging 150 hectares of crops area.

In Kokrajhar, 19,000 peoples are affected in the flood under Gossaigaon and Bagribari revenue circles in the district. Altogether 2818 peoples are taking shelter in five relief camps setting up for flood affected in Gossaigaon revenue circle, which are included Gurumarachar No. 2 LP School, Gurumarachar No. 2 LP School, Simultapu LP School, Khokshaguri No. 3 LP School and Gurufela LP School.

The Gaurang, Champamati, Sankosh, Modati, Gurufela and Saralbhanga rivers are flowing above their danger levels till Tuesday evening. Rescue operation carried out by Indian Army, Police and Forest department with country boat to the affected areas.No one casulty was reported in the district due to flood.

District administration has been monitoring the flood situation with necessary measures along with provinding reluef materials to the affected peoples,said a senior official in Kokrajhar district administration. 
In Bijni(Chirang),95 flood peoples from Khungkhrajhora village are taking shelter at relief camp setting up by Chirang district administration.The Khungkhrajhora village was affected due to flash flood waters under Bijni revenue circle. Chirang district administration has been providing relief materials as well medical facilities to the flood affected peoples.
