A motorcyclist and his pillion rider were critically injured when a Mahindra Bolero SUV hit their bike on the Nizdimou Bypass near Bebejia, Nagaon on Sunday evening. The injured, identified as Pinku Borah, son of Dipen Bora and Bikash Nath son of Pabitra Nath, both resident of Senchowa, Nagaon were shifted to Nagaon Civil Hospital. The two were later sent to GMC Hospital, Guwahati in view of their serious condition. The accident took place when the Bolero SUV (AS09D-1146) on way from Nagaon to Guwahati, collided with the Yamaha bearing (AS21D-7329) which was going from Nijdimou to Nagaon. According to sources, the bike was driving in wrong direction Which causes head-on crash with the Bolero.
The arrest of a person in connection with a kidnapping case triggers no less protest in Nagaon on Monday forcing the authorities to release him after thousands of people in Eleven Mile area hit the streets demanding unconditional release of the people whom they called innocent. Local residents in large number blocked the National Highway No 36 at Eleven mile for a few hours disrupting surface communication on Monday. According to the protestors, police have arrested Ramjan Ali on flimsy ground who was not at all involved in the incident. They threatened to go to any extent if the police refuse to release Ramjan.
