Partha Pratim Baruah from the Jatiya Vidyalaya in Tihu hogs the limelight in the HSLC examination, 2017 as the state secondary education board has announced the results on Wednesday.
The second position goes jointly to three students namely Tannayoee Hazarika from BVFC Model School in Dibrugarh, Ranjan Kashyap Gogoi from Salt Brook Academy in the same district and Nurul Hasan Ali in RC HS School in Mukalmuwa.
Bhargava Pratim Barua from PN Academy at Jarabari in Lakhimpur ranks third while Sayan Mazumdar from Tezpur Don Bosco gets the fifth rank. Writik Satar has been ranked fifth this time.
According to the Board of Secondary, Assam which conducted the examination in February and March, 47.94 per cent candidates have cleared the examination, a sharp fall from 62.77 in the last year. Altogether 5499 candidates have secured first division along with 43,522 others in the second division.
