Kokrajhar police disposed huge amounts of narcotic substances on Tuesday at Singimari Itabata ground. The items were seized by police at different places in the district since 2002.
Police administration have seized 40 quintols of tobacco,800 kg Ganja,1400 bottles of phensedyle,465 kg tablets during the last 15 years since 2002 to till May of this 2017 at different places in the district. The police dispossessed the seized goods in the presence of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kokrajhar and members of Drug Disposal Committee under the guidelines from Supreme Court.
The seized substantial goods were destroyed after strict verification of the contravened goods.There were 12 numbers of cases were reported in the district in last 15 years against substantial goods. It is a good initiative taken from Supreme Court over disposal of contravened goods.
Rajen Singh,SP Kokrajhar told that the substantial goods were seized by police at different places in the district.
‘We destroyed the seized goods openly as per guidelines reached from Supreme Court’,Singh said . He said these goods were detected during the checking carried out police administration after getting information about illegally brought by brokers through district roads.
